It is wrong,therefore, to wish that our neighbor fall into sin, offend God,diminish or forfeit his grace, or lose his soul. (a) The consent is not full whenthe matter is grave, for else the sin would be mortal. , 39; Rom. (c) In its consummation, envy becomes hatred, as was said above on thecauses of hate (see 1316).
Under these same conditions, then, Mass may be said fornon-Catholics, both living and dead (Canon 2262, Sec. Accordingly, for them, ecclesiastical faith is the internalassent given to truths connected with revelation and (a) Itdiffers, therefore, from a strict or tender conscience, which, while itdoes not exaggerate sin, judges that one should try to avoid evenslight sin and imperfection. Hence, it is not the same as difference of opinion (see 1197), which isa disagreement in judgments.
